Singles Events and Groups

Meetup.com
www.meetup.com/cities/us/ky/louisville/
Okay, okay -- it's not just for singles. All sorts of groups sharing a common interest -- hiking, yoga, cycling, atheism, beer, motherhood, permaculture, WordPress -- get together and talk about and do whatever it is they enjoy. How cool is that?
A few actual examples: Kentuckiana Singles Events, Socializers over 40, Witty Women of Louisville...

MUSIC. DRINKS. ART. Evening hours are back at the Speed! On the Third Friday of every month, the Museum will be open until 10 pm. Each After Hours event comes alive with an eclectic mix of music, performances, food + drinks by Wiltshire at the Speed, and of course art! Come experience the Speed after hours like you’ve never experienced it before. There used to be between four and six hundred(!) people each month before the renovation - let's help get the numbers back up there. Free to museum members, and anyone with a university staff or faculty ID. $12 adult admission, $8 senior admission (60+).

Singles Nights
at the late, much-lamented Hawley-Cooke Booksellers.
See what happens when you buy books in the internet? Good local places close up, taking all sorts of great activities with them. You might have met your soul mate for this life and the next in the Mysteries aisle. The lesson? Buy from locally owned businesses whenever you possibly can!

National and Internet Resources

ConsumerAffairs.com
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/dating_services/#
ConsumerAffairs (appropriate name, under the circumstances!) provides online reviews and user comments on a wide variety of products and services, including online dating services: okcupid, eharmony, match, etc. The site describes such features as cost, matching processes, and privacy safeguards, but it's hardly exhaustive. About 20 services were listed as of May 2016. The most instructive part is the comments from disgruntled consumers.
